Hebrews 11
"Faith is the certainty of things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen."
Picture with me a farmer in the spring. Can you see him with his seeds in a pouch? He is a knowledgeable farmer who knows when and where he is to plant. He knows the perfect conditions for the healthiest crop. He plants the seed into the ground fully trusting that in due time the first visible signs of the leafy green sprouts WILL burst through the dirt and into plain sight.
I think the coolest picture of faith is like a farmer who faithfully plants seeds into the ground who cannot SEE the process of growth, movement, activity AT ALL. He simply trusts that if he obediently plants, he will reap what he sows.
In the same way, planting seeds is like faith in the fact that if God has told us what to do, or given us a vision, dream or assignment, we obediently plant the seed into the ground. Often we move forward not being able to see anything at all at first. We simply accept the feeling of His pleasure as we joyfully drop our "seeds" into the earth. And in that moment, we place the seed into the ground and cover it up with fresh soil, all becomes black and we can no longer SEE the seed. Then... one day, on the right day, we get to see the invisible become visible as we see the very first sign of lush, new, fresh, sprouts!
I am convinced that God continually wants us to be living in the realm of the unseen until it becomes visible. In that realm we simply take hold of His hand and learn a greater trust in His character and good intentions toward us! And, we can feel His pleasure as we thank Him in advance for what He will do, because if we have heard Him He will do it! Faith is the God-given ability to see what He sees. It’s living with "concentrated conviction" of what He has said, and then moving toward His voice to receive our provision.
We at FEED MY BABIES want to walk toward what He has said and all the while faithfully plant the seeds all along the pathways of his choosing. We know He has an even greater heart then we to feed the hungry. Every seed sown in His Spirit, in His power, and in His name will one day, on the right day, become visible! Just as the little green, lush sprout bursts from the earth.
In the meantime we listen, trust, and thank Him knowing a harvest will come! "Faith with patience wears the enemy out!" Without faith it is impossible to please Him and oh, I want to please Him! So Lord, increase my faith. :) He will do far more than we could ever dream or imagine, to Him be glory, Amen!
